Halloween Meatballs (Zombie Eyes)
Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 75 Minutes
Yields: 8 Servings
Ingredients:
⢠Half cup grated Parmesan cheese. One (8-ounce) spaghetti package. 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs. Two cloves minced garlic.
⢠One large egg
⢠Parsley flakes - 1 teaspoon
⢠One teaspoon dried oregano. One teaspoon dried basil
⢠One (16-ounce) jar of spaghetti sauce One pound lean ground beef Eight black olives, half
⢠One tablespoon olive oil
⢠One (1 ounce) stick string cheese, cut into 16 slices
Directions
1. First, bring a large pot of water to boil.
2. Next, boil the water and cook the spaghetti for approximately 12 minutes. Stir occasionally. Drain the spaghetti and set it aside.
3. Next, oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
4. Next, combine bread crumbs with Parmesan cheese, egg yolk, garlic, parsley, oregano, and basil in a large mixing bowl.
5. Mix in the ground beef, then fold it in and mix it with your hands until well combined. Use a cookie scoop to form 16 equal-sized meatballs.
6. Next, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
7. Next, brown the meatballs three minutes each side.
8. Next, use tongs to transfer the cooked meatballs onto a baking sheet.
9. Then bake the browned meatballs for 8 minutes in the oven.
10. As the meatballs bake in the oven, you will use a straw to poke holes through each olive half. This will create a circular 'pupil'. The straw can be used to poke a hole in the middle of each slice of string cheese.
11. To make eyes, place the olive circle in the hole of the string cheese slice.
12. Next, remove the meatballs and let them cool in the oven.
13. Next, wrap some spaghetti strands around each of the sixteen forks to create zombie eyes.
14. Next, place a meatball on each fork. Finally, arrange the forks on a platter.
15. Next, place a spoonful of spaghetti sauce on each meatball.
16. Next, spread the olive-cheese eye over the sauce.
17. Next, place the remaining spaghetti sauce on the forks.
18. Enjoy!
